The Quick Beginners Golf Guide

The Quick Beginners Golf Guide

When starting out in golf if can be frustrating to know what to do first. It can all be quite daunting if you take a quick look online there is so much information to process and endless amounts of equipment reviews and sales pitches.

So let’s help you out here and give you a few quick pointers on how best to start.

First of all you should not be looking at trying to hit the ball as far as you can. Start by working on your swing temp and timing. The right tempo and timing can help you hit the ball just as far as giving it a good whack.

Secondly don’t get caught up in the idea that you need to have the best clubs on the market or fill your bag full of all sorts of different clubs Stick with basic clubs to begin with. The Driver, your Irons and your Putter will be the most used clubs by a new or seasoned golfer. We have a great article on some of the Best Beginner Golf Club Sets on the market in 2022.

Next we would recommend not spending too much time at the driving range. If you go to the range a lot with no clear plan in mind it could just be a waste of time. It is great to work on your swing plane and your tempo but nothing will beat the real thing.

Lastly we would say the short game is what will reduce your scores. Practice your chipping and your putting because once this becomes good you become great. A good short game will reduce your score and save you on a few occasions.

When it comes to starting out in golf, keep things simple. Don’t rush things, you’ll have some good rounds and some bad ones but stay consistent and don’t be afraid to ask for help. Most of all enjoy yourself.
